"Chernov" is a slavic surname formed from the Russian word Chyorny meaning "black" and Chernila meaning "ink".

Elaine Chernov has been an illustrator and designer for over a decade. When she's not leading design projects at Shipshape Studio, her passion lies in illustration work. 

She's currently open to opportunities for editorial illustration, hand lettering work, and working with great companies.
